Analysis of Coronal Mass Ejection and Type II Split Band Solar Radio Bursts to analyze the solar magnetic field

Supervisor: Dr. Anshu Kumari (Postdoctoral Research Fellow, NASA)

June, 2022 - Present (Ongoing)

  • The type II solar burst recorded by the BIR e-Callisto Radio Spectrograph has been used.

  • Evaluation of the density jump at the shock and the Mach number by running python codes.

  • Conversion of the plasma frequency of the burst into height in terms of solar radii and then calculated the Alfren Velocity (Va) and Shock Velocity (Vs).

  • LASCO, EUVI, and AIA data analysis  as well as used the GCS model to calculate the speed of the respective Halo CME

  • Details will be made available soon.
